Lauren Burnham of The Bachelor is in the hospital with mastitis: The Infection Is 'Worsening'

Lauren Burnham spent the night in the hospital on July 22, two days after Arie Luyendyk Jr. revealed his mastitis issues.

The former Bachelor, 39, posted on Instagram Stories about his wife's breast tissue illness, "Not good, mastitis is growing worse on meds." “I despise this for her.”

“IV, antibiotics, and scans for any abscess,” the Bachelorette alum added after showing the vials of blood that had been drawn from the Virginia native, 29. This week has been very trying for her.” 

On Friday, July 23, he told his Instagram followers that he and his 1-month-old twins, Senna and Lux, "spent the night at home." “Heading over... to see my No. 1 bb @laurenluyendyk as visiting hours begin.”

Burnham was “struggling with mastitis,” according to the former racecar driver, who also has daughter Alessi, 2, with the Shades of Rose designer.

“Really rough last couple days,” Luyendyk Jr. explained. With the infants, I was up all weekend. “Haha, I'm surviving over here.”

Burnham was having a "tough" time breastfeeding Alessi, the Olympian exclusively told Us Weekly in 2019.

“No one warned me that if you're a first-time mom, your milk might not come in right away,” the new mom added. As a result, I had to supplement her with formula, which I was really unhappy with. When I was having terrible engorgement difficulties, I didn't quite up and went to a lactation consultant. She assisted in teaching my kid how to latch correctly, and everything has gone well since then.”

Burnham told Us exclusively before the birth of their twins that she was "nervous" about breastfeeding both of her babies at the same time.

In May, the fashion designer admitted, "I'm not entirely sure how that's going to happen." “I've heard twins are particularly tough since you don't get as much sleep as you do with a baby. One will awaken with the want to eat, and the other will awaken with the desire to eat at the same moment. I see that going south very quickly.”
